Topic: For Whom the Blog Tolls: The Impact of Social Media on Emergency Preparedness & Response
This session will highlight the growing impact of social media and web 2.0 applications on various emergency management functions. This impact will be evaluated from a preparedness, communication, and time management perspective. Specific topics will include an overview of the major social networking applications, changes in public expectation, cost, daily implementation, future application, as well as other challenges and benefits.
AAdam is a Certified Emergency Manager who serves as the Assisted Director of Community Preparedness for Johnson County Emergency Management & Homeland Security. He holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Jacksonville State University and a Bachelor?s Degree in Biochemistry from Clemson University. He is a national-renowned speaker and leader in the application of social media within emergency management and public safety environments. He also is an Adjunct Instructor for Park University.
